When we think about luck, we may consider mathematical improbability and/or probability. Whether you think luck is real or has to do with mathematical probability, you may feel unlucky for having been deceived when it comes to your timeshare. Perhaps you are wondering whether you can cancel your timeshare or reduce your level of ownership. Luck has nothing to do with the unfortunate circumstances of your timeshare. Maybe you can make your own luck by taking proactive measures to do something about being misled or deceived in your timeshare.
Contacting Wesley Financial Group to help you with your current situation can be one of the proactive measures that you may take. However, you may feel that you’ve been contacting people in the timeshare advocacy industry with no results. You may feel that you have been
doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results. You’ve probably heard the quote attributed to Albert Einstein, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.” Well, don’t worry. You’re far from insane for trying to get help, and not you’re not unlucky. At Wesley Financial Group, we want to help you succeed.
Are people who are able to get out of their timeshare or reduce the level of ownership lucky people? No, they’re not. They have just taken proactive measures to see whether or not someone can help them. By contacting Wesley Financial Group, we can determine whether or not we may be able to help you. So, what about this luck thing? According to Popular Science, “Researchers across various disciplines have attempted to decode whether there’s an actual measurable aspect to what we understand as luck. Many of these studies have found that what a person might perceive as “luck” has more to do with psychology than probability; “luck” is actually just her own positive attitude that keeps her open to new opportunities or perceiving patterns in random acts of chance.” (Ossola, 2015). Trying to keep a positive attitude can be hard if you have been duped into a timeshare. It may be hard for you to believe that anyone can have good luck after going through an ordeal where you have been deceived. You may believe that your luck has run out. But don’t be quick to think that you have no more luck.
As the Popular Science article articulates, luck is more likely an attribute of a positive attitude. Furthermore, ” When we think back on a lucky event, it’s often accompanied by the understanding of how that changed our lives for the better… So, while these chance encounters can’t be controlled, people can do a lot to put themselves in a particular place and time and hope that it’s the right one. An open, positive, go-getter attitude also makes people more likely to appreciate an opportunity and to take advantage of it.” (Ossola, 2015). Coming upon Wesley Financial Group might seem a lucky thing to you. We’ll do our best to help you out in your ordeal.
What is it that some people seem to have in order to strike it lucky? How come some people have been able to cancel their timeshare? The article in Popular Science explores the idea of lucky people and some of the characteristics they have. “Luck doesn’t just “happen,” even for people who consider themselves lucky. Richard Wiseman, a professor of psychology at the University of Hertfordshire in England, has done a number of studies to figure out what distinguishes a lucky person from an unlucky one. In one study, he asked people who identified as luck and as unlucky to read a newspaper. On one-half page of a newspaper, he wrote in large letters: “Tell the experimenter you have seen this and win £250.” The people who said they were lucky were more likely to see the ad, Wiseman wrote, and the “unlucky” people seemed to demonstrate more anxiety, which detracted from their powers of observation.” (Ossola, 2015).
What we gather from the article is that luck is more along the lines of something you make for yourself. Now, Lady Luck may not like us for saying that. Please wait a moment as we look for some wood to knock on. That being said, this article in Popular Science may have a thing or two to say about lucky people and superstitions. “Crossing your fingers, knocking on wood—most of us don’t know where superstitions like these came from, even if a lot of us practice them fairly often. But several studies show that superstitions might work, though not in the way that we think they do.” (Ossola, 2015). The article mentions a study where participants who were superstitious and used lucky charms seemed to do better than their counterparts who didn’t:
“…golfers who were told that they were using a “lucky ball” performed significantly better than those who were told that theirs was “the same ball everyone else had used so far.” The test subjects also performed better when they were allowed to hold on to their “lucky charms” from home while solving an anagram problem. The researchers hypothesized that the people with their lucky charms by their side persisted at problems longer because they felt more effective like they had the assistance of some other power. It’s the same logic that Alcoholics Anonymous has used to help people get sober and stay that way—people feel empowered when they think that someone else is helping them, so they actually do better at the tasks at hand.” (Ossola, 2015).
