Does it feel like a rain cloud is following you everywhere you go? You may feel like there’s a rain cloud that follows you everywhere if you have timeshare problems. Has anyone ever asked you, “Why the long face?” Perhaps it’s the timeshare fraud that has got you down.
When someone asks you about the long face, you may or may not be open to talking about your timeshare troubles. If you are dealing with a timeshare dilemma, it may feel like putting salt on an open wound every time you talk about it. Why does it feel worse to talk about problems sometimes? Perhaps it’s because you’re not talking to the right person. At Wesley Financial Group, complaints about your timeshare problem may help you find peace of mind so you can rest easy.

If only they could have been a fly on the wall when you were duped. You may have been duped into changing your level of ownership or purchasing a timeshare. Either way, the best thing would be for you to overcome this problem and have a change of luck. The best way to do it is with the help of people who know how to get you out of your timeshare dilemma. The best way is to contact Wesley Financial Group. Complaints are something that we are used to and don’t mind listening to again and again. We’ve heard all sorts of complaints about the troubles timeshares have put people through.
You may have purchased four leaf clovers or knocked on wood a couple of times to shake your bad luck with timeshares. Could it help at all? In an article written for The Atlantic, writer Julie Beck takes a look at whether or not our superstitious rituals help us shake bad luck or not. Interestingly, these rituals may bring a little bit of psychological comfort if anything. Beck breaks down the article by “Problem, Methodology, Results, and Implications”. Beck first explores these superstitions in her own life:
“Problem: For 18 years or so, I somehow managed to avoid learning that you were supposed to throw salt over your shoulder when you spilled it, to avoid bad luck. So, when I spilled some salt in my college dining hall and my friends yelled at me to throw it over my shoulder, I panicked and threw the whole shaker. Some people are very adamant about their superstitions. Knock on wood if you tempt fate, don’t name the Scottish play in a theater, lest you draw the ire of Lady Luck. In our brains, we know that tossing salt doesn’t really prevent bad things from happening; it just makes the ground salty. Previous research has shown that these rituals give people a sense of control, but a new study in The Journal of Experimental Psychology looks at why we choose particular rituals to get rid of our bad luck.” (Beck, 2013).
A lot of us have superstitious rituals that we partake in, whether it be knocking on wood or otherwise. Does it help at all with your timeshare problems? According to a study referenced in Beck’s article, it might help soothe our minds. Beck takes a look at the methodology. “Methodology: The researchers hypothesized that rituals such as knocking on wood or throwing salt would be especially effective at making people feel like they are pushing away bad luck because the physical action exerts force away from the self.
They had participants engage in a scripted conversation with an experimenter, a conversation which the experimenter eventually turned to car accidents or disease. Some participants had neutral responses to choose from, some had ones that tempted fate, such as “I’m certain that everyone I know will be 100% safe. “After the conversation, to “clear their thoughts,” participants either knocked down on a wooden table (away from themselves), knocked up (toward themselves), threw a ball, or held a ball. Then they had the subjects’ rate how likely they thought it was that whatever negative thing they were discussing would come to pass.” (Beck, 2013).
Can this help with your timeshare problems? Let’s take a look at the outcome of the study. “Results: The participants who tempted fate with their presumptuous statements were less likely to think they were jinxed if they knocked on wood or threw a ball. However, as the researchers predicted, the direction of the knocking also had an effect. Knocking toward oneself was actually worse than not knocking at all, whereas knocking away from oneself had the expected calming effect. And tossing a ball—an action not normally thought of as a bad luck ritual—still caused participants to feel less jinxed.” (Beck, 2013). You may feel jinxed if you were duped in a timeshare scam. If so, you can do something about your circumstances by contacting Wesley Financial Group. Complaints about your timeshare troubles will disappear the quicker you take action.
Overall, what does this study about superstitious rituals tell us? “Implications: “Theoretically, any action, compared with nonaction, can provide a sense of control,” the study reads. “If these rituals are enacted solely to restore a sense of control, then all actions should be equally likely to be adopted as a method for undoing bad luck.” This study shows that just any random action is not going to make you feel better after you’ve tempted fate—you have to push the bad luck away. So, throwing a saltshaker will probably work just as well as throwing the salt.” (Beck, 2013). Perhaps these superstitious rituals will make you feel better, but you need something more substantial to actually make a change in your timeshare circumstance.
